Abstract

Phyllodistomum guptai n.sp. from body cavities of freshwater fish hosts Clarias batracus (Linn.), Heteropneustes fossilis (Bloch) and Channaguchua (Bloch) from Loktak lake, Bishnupur district. Manipur differs from all the known forms of the genus in the following characters viz. presence of pharynx. absence of oesophagus, ventral sucker larger than oral sucker, ovaries and testes are lobed, uterus intercaecal as well as extracaecal.
