Abstract

Mutation can alter the structure of viral proteins to form different structure. Carbon distribution is responsible for these changes in structure. The carbon distribution statistics in proteins of viral sample is carried out here. The statistical results prove to be useful in identifying carbon optimized domains and abnormal portions active regions or hydrophobic part. It clearly indicates the portions which are exposed or buried inside the folded protein. It can locate the abnormal portion for possible mutational study. Mutational study based on this carbon distribution can be better exploited for further improving the protein stability, activity and ultimately for gene therapy.
